Consists of a record completed on printed forms of persons who were convicted on criminal charges and sentenced to imprisonment in state and federal penitentiaries. The information given in each form includes the name of defendant, case number, whether the conviction resulted from a guilty plea entered by the defendant or a verdict rendered by the jury, date that sentence was pronounced, length of sentence, and the place of imprisonment. Some defendants also were ordered to pay a fine. Defendants were sentenced to imprisonment in state penitentiaries in Detroit, Michigan; Columbus, Ohio; Washington, D.C.; and in federal penitentiaries at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; and Atlanta, Georgia.
